iPhone 4 returns FAQs

 
If I got iPhone 4 from O2 between Thursday 24 June and Thursday 22 July, what are my return options?

If you bought iPhone 4 during this time period, the last day to return it to O2 is Friday 6 August.

  • If you bought iPhone 4 in an O2 shop, please return it there. Make sure you bring your receipt and original packaging.
  • If you bought iPhone 4 by telephone or online from O2, please call customer service. They will tell you how to send it back to O2 and how to get a new phone. Unfortunately you can't return telephone or online purchases to an O2 shop at the moment.

What happens when I return iPhone 4 to O2?

When you return iPhone 4 to O2, there are a few things that will happen:

  • To replace iPhone 4, you can choose any phone in our range, as long as we have it in stock. If the phone you pick costs more or less than iPhone 4 depending on your chosen tariff, we'll sort that out with you.
  • You can change your tariff, but you can't change the length of your contractor cancel it. The only exception to this is if you were eligible for an upgrade and purchased after Saturday 24 July. See 'What happens if I went for a regular upgrade to get iPhone 4?' for more details.
  • You can swap back to a standard sim, or we'll provide you with a micro sim adapter if you need one.

What happens if I went for the Early Upgrade Offer to get iPhone 4?

When you went for the Early Upgrade Offer, you agreed to the terms of the offer. This means that if you decide to return iPhone 4, you are not permitted to cancel your contract or change the length of it. This is because we let you pay off the balance of your previous contract for less than it would have normally cost. You can choose a different phone and change your tariff as described above.


What happens if I went for a regular upgrade to get iPhone 4?

You can choose a different phone and change your tariff as described above. But when it comes to your contract, when you signed up will determine what happens:

  • If you purchased your iPhone 4 more than 14 days ago, you cannot cancel your contract or change the length of it.
  • If you set up your contract on Friday 23 July, you can change your mind and cancel your contract by Friday 6 August, as part of our 14 day change of mind policy.
  • Any contracts set up from Saturday 24 July onwards are subject to our usual 14 day change of mind period.

What if I bought iPhone 4 from The Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u or Best Buy?

If you got iPhone 4 from one of the retailers above, you should contact them directly if you decide you don't want to keep iPhone 4.


What if I bought iPhone 4 from an Apple retail shop or Apple online shop?
